Photo: ABC News, propertyUSA, KUPANG TIMES - US President Joe Biden has officially nominated himself for re-election as President of the United States, Tuesday, (25/04/23).
Biden appealed to his voters, in a video clip, to give him more time to “get the job done,” his administration began two years ago.
The candidates for President of the United States, will officially only be supported by the two Main Political Parties of the United States, namely; Democrats and Republicans, and will be elected just months ahead of the November 2024 election.
But Biden's incumbent status, by precedent, is unlikely to allow Democrats to choose someone else as their presidential candidate.
Biden beat Republican Donald Trump and earned his first term as president in the election two years ago.
Trump refuses to accept the election results, issuing unfounded claims of election fraud.
Mobs of Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol building as Congress sits to certify the results of the January 2021 election, and the Biden campaign used scenes from that attack to kick off its announcement Tuesday.
"Every generation of Americans has faced a moment when they had to stand up for democracy,"
“Rise up for our personal freedom. Rise up for the right to vote and for our civil rights."
"Republicans are working to limit access to abortion, slash Social Security, limit voting rights, and “tell people who they can love,”|Joe Biden (US President)
To note - Joe Biden, who became the oldest president of the United States, at the time of his inauguration, did not exaggerate concerns about his age ahead of his re-election campaign.
Joe Biden, will be 82 years old at the start of a new term, in 2024.
