JAKARTA, KUPANG TIMES - The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia reported that the cumulative total cases of atypical progressive kidney disorders in Indonesia had reached 206 patients, as of Tuesday (18/10/22) yesterday.

Of the 206 patients, 99 patients were declared dead.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Mohammad Syahril said that; 206 Patients who have kidney disorders, obtained from reports from 20 provinces in Indonesia, with 99 deaths.

"Where the mortality rate of patients who are treated, especially at the RSCM as the National Kidney Referral Hospital, reaches 65%,"

"Until now, the cause of atypical progressive acute kidney disease has not been identified,"

"I confirm that this kidney problem is not related to the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine,"

"The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and the Indonesian Pediatrician Association are currently forming a team to conduct further investigations on this issue,"

"I also urge parents to be more vigilant by continuously monitoring the amount and color of concentrated or brownish urine in children,"

"If the urine is reduced or the amount is less than 0.5 ml /kg /hour, within 6-12 hours or there is no urine for 6-8 hours, the patient must be immediately referred to the hospital,"

"Furthermore, the hospital was asked to do kidney function tests, namely; urea and creatinine,"

"If the results of kidney function show an increase, then further examination is carried out to establish the diagnosis, evaluate the possible etiology and complications,"

"The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia has instructed pharmacies and health workers in Indonesia for the time being not to sell or prescribe drugs in liquid or syrup form to the public,"

"This instruction was carried out, as a form of vigilance over the findings of atypical progressive kidney disorders, which mostly affect children in Indonesia.

"For now, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia has taken strategic steps, to suppress more cases of kidney organ disorders, or subsequent deaths,"

"We will temporarily suspend its use until our research or investigation is complete,"|Mohammad Syahril (Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia) while attending an online event, Wednesday (19/10/22).
